Chill & Infuse Any Cocktail With Natural Flavor

We like to best enjoy Broken Shed with just a twist or zest of citrus to compliment the vodka’s naturally crisp finish. When drinking less ornate cocktails, Ice Spheres are just the best way to chill your drink. Mixologists have long known and preferred this ice for more pure cocktails and finer spirits.


The overall size and shape of ice plays a key role in how a drink tastes. The smaller the cube the faster it will melt, which will then dilute mixed drinks faster. Incorporating a larger sized spherical cube will release less water into your drink, making the flavor last longer.

It comes down to volume and surface area. If a cube has the same volume as a sphere, the sphere will have 24 percent less surface area than the cube. The less surface area of ice there is, when exposed to warm liquid, the slower the ice will melt. Thus, a sphere of ice will melt more slowly in a drink than a cube of ice. Large ice balls, that fill/almost fill the glass chill the drink quickly while exposing it to as little surface area as possible. This way, you can chill a drink without diluting it, meaning the first sip will taste as good as the last. It’s science!

TIP: To make clear ice, you will have to get rid of any air. There is no better way to get air out of water than to boil it. Once you have boiled the water, place immediately into ice cube trays, or a mold of any kind and then place in the freezer. The result will be clear ice cubes — or at least as clear as is practical.

To get a subtle and simple punch to your “rocks” experience or to add something special to your favorite cocktail, try popping some herbs, fruit, juices or other fresh ingredients into the water to transform your standard ice cubes.  Why not give your cocktails a boost of flavor with these easy infused ice cube recipes.


Our specifically designed fruity spherical ice, will help hold all of the flavors in your summer cocktails! Try a classic citrus combo, with our lemon and lime infused ice balls recipe. This recipe involves minimal ingredients but exceeds in aroma and fresh flavors.


  • 1 lemon (small)
  • 1 lime (small)
  • Ice ball tray


Fill ice ball tray with 3/4 amount of water. Zest lemon and lime and squeeze juices from both, into each cube space. Combine a couple pieces of zests from both fruits into the ice trays. Freeze for approx 3 hours.

Tip: Try this recipe with other flavorful fruits such as tangerine, orange or grapefruit.



  • 4 oz Broken Shed Vodka
  • 16 oz can tomato juice
  • 1 tsp. spice mixture (your choice)
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 celery juice ice cube (see below)
  • 1 horseradish ice cube (see below)

Celery juice ice cubes – Mix 2 cups of celery juice and 1 cup of water into 2 ice trays. Leave in the freezer for approx. 4 hours.

Horseradish ice cubes – Cook 1 cup of rice for 10 minutes in an appropriate amount of water. Drain water and keep to one side. Combine 1.5 cups of water, ½ cup of finely cut horseradish and 1 cup of rice water, and place in a 2 ice trays.


Mix Broken Shed Vodka, tomato juice and spice mixture in a large glass. Stir, and add the celery ice cube and the horseradish ice cube.


  • Mint release more flavor in ice compared to other firm herbs (i.e. rosemary).
  • Fill fresh mint leaves into an oversized silicon ice tray, mix with water.
  • Freeze for approx. 3 hours.

Recommendation: Mint cubes are great for vodka mojitos or simply to add a “sprig” of flavor to a Broken Shed & a Rock (2 fingers and 1 spherical infused ice cube).


Try something different, and infuse fresh sage leaves and agave syrup into ice cubes. Freeze and serve with Broken Shed Vodka to create a unique cocktail with a beautiful aroma.


  • 1 cup fresh sage leaves
  • 1/3 cup light agave syrup
  • Broken Shed Vodka


  1. Set aside 10 sage leaves for ice cubes. Steep sage leaves in 6 cups of boiling water for 15 minutes. Strain liquid; and discard sage leaves. Stir in agave until it dissolves. Let mixture cool completely, then refrigerate for up to 1 day.
  2. Pour some of the sage mixture into an ice-cube tray. Add one sage leaf to each cube compartment. Freeze for at least 8 hours and up to 1 day.
  3. Place a sage ice cube in each of 4 tumblers and top with Broken Shed Vodka


Thinly slice lemons, limes, and oranges.

Layer the slices and fill each ice compartment halfway with water.

Freeze for approx. 4 hours.

Broken Shed Punch:

  • 12 oz pineapple juice concentrate
  • 12 oz orange juice concentrate
  • 24 oz of Broken Shed vodka
  • 50 oz (1.5 liter) of lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage, chilled
  • 1 small jar maraschino cherries
  • 2 trays of “Party Punch” ice cubes

Combine all ingredients for the perfect summer pool party punch!
